For companions

Flexible, local self-employed work
supporting families in Kent & Sussex.

We connect reliable, self-employed companions with local families who need regular visits and everyday home-support – without the stress of agency shifts or clinical duties.

  • Choose visits that fit your diary and travel radius.
  • Clear, non-CQC boundaries – companionship & practical support only.
  • Simple admin and support from the Kind Care team.

You will be working as a self-employed companion, not an employee of a CQC-registered service.

Who this suits – and what we look for.

We’re gradually building a small, high-trust network of companions who value reliability, clear communication and treating clients as if they were their own family.

It suits people who:

  • • Enjoy spending time with older or vulnerable adults
  • • Prefer meaningful, relationship-based work to rushed visits
  • • Like having control over their hours and local travel
  • • Are comfortable working as self-employed

We look for:

  • • Enhanced DBS certificate (or willingness to obtain one)
  • • Recent references
  • • Right to work in the UK
  • • Warm, respectful communication and good boundaries
  • • Reliability and honesty

What you can expect from us:

  • • Clear visit briefs and expectations
  • • Support with practicalities of self-employed work
  • • A fair, transparent approach to families and companions
